Electronic Discovery Technician II
Position Summary:
Lighthouse Document Technologies utilizes sophisticated technology tools and skilled professionals to help clients reduce litigation costs and risks in the areas of evidence and discovery management and the acquisition, management, and analysis of large data sets.
In cooperation with Electronic Discovery Group team members, coordinates, conducts and oversees technical processes and best practices for data-related electronic discovery activities. Generates production reports for comparisons, summaries, analyses, etc. Conducts and/or supervises the activities of electronic productions. Trains other personnel in technical subjects, applications and procedures.
Candidates will be expected to have a solid base of technical experience and possess strong interpersonal skills, essential to our client's expectations.
Position Requirements and Responsibilities:
Plan, coordinate and implement security measures to safeguard information in computer files against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification or disclosure.
Develop methods for integrating different products so they work properly together, such as customizing commercial databases to fit specific needs.
Review project requests describing database user needs to estimate time required to accomplish project.
Affinity for documentation, e.g. completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
Train users and answer questions.
Qualifications:
- Two years of experience working in an IT related field.
- Working experience with MS SQL, MS Access or other database applications, Windows, UNIX, Linux, DOC, Mac OSX, networking architectures, TCP/IP, LAN support, and systems.
- Experience with database and other utilities or methodologies for the collection, processing, review, and production of electronic and paper documents responsive to legal or regulatory compliance discovery requests.
- Experience in computer forensics, electronic discovery, technical investigations and/or information security a plus.
Effective multitasking skills.
- Exceptional client service and follow-up skills.
Technical understanding of computers, disks, processing, knowledge about how data is stored.
- Team player with a positive attitude and good problem solving skills.
Knowledge of and experience with the concepts, management, retrieval, and use of electronically stored information (ESI).
- Outstanding writing, communication and presentation skills required.
- Some familiarity with: Visual Basic/VBSCRIPT, C, C++, Java, ASP, .Net.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Litigation Support experience preferred but not necessary.
